Convert between decimal, American, and fractional odds instantly. Enter any format and see the equivalent in all three, plus the implied probability and payout on a $100 bet.
How to Use the Odds Converter
To convert odds between formats, you simply enter the odds value into any one of the three fields: decimal, American or fractional. The calculator converts it into the other two formats at the same time.
For example, if your selection is 2.50 odds on a betting site, put it into the calculator. You get:
American: +150
Fractional: 6/4
Implied Probability: 40.0%
Description of the Different Odds Format
Here’s a brief explanation of each one.
Decimal Odds
Decimal odds show the total return for every $1 staked, including the stake itself. They're the standard format across Australia, Europe and Canada. When you have odds as decimals, they’re easier to compare across bookmakers because the odds are a straight multiplier of your stake.
For example, a $10 bet at decimal odds of 2.50 returns $25 in total, which is $15 profit plus the $10 stake back.
American Odds
American odds, also called moneyline, use positive and negative numbers. Positive odds show the profit on a $100 bet. Negative odds show the stake needed to profit $100.
A price of +150 wins $150 in profit on a $100 bet. A price of -200 would need a $200 bet to win a $100 profit. This format is standard on US sportsbooks.
Fractional Odds
Fractional odds are written as fractions and show potential profit relative to stake. They're common in the UK and Ireland.
For example, a price of 5/1 returns $5 profit for every $1 staked, plus the stake back. Similarly, a price of 1/4 returns $1 profit for every $4 staked. The fraction only reflects profit, not total return.
Implied Probability
Fractional odds are written as fractions and show potential profit relative to stake. They're common in the UK and Ireland.
For example, a price of 5/1 returns $5 profit for every $1 staked, plus the stake back. Similarly, a price of 1/4 returns $1 profit for every $4 staked. The fraction only reflects profit, not total return.

How Odds Conversion Works
You can use these simple formulas for odds conversion when working odds out by hand.
Odds to Implied Probability
If you're starting from American or fractional odds, convert to decimal first, then apply this formula:
Divide 100 by the decimal odds.
Odds of 2.50 give an implied probability of 100 ÷ 2.50 = 40%.
Implied Probability to Odds
Divide 100 by the implied probability to get decimal odds.
A probability of 40% gives decimal odds of 100 ÷ 40 = 2.50.
It’s useful when you have a probability estimate and need to know what odds it corresponds to.
Decimal Odds to American
For decimal odds of 2.00 or higher, subtract 1 and m ultiply by 100.
Decimal odds of 3.00 give (3.00 - 1) × 100 = +200.
For decimal odds below 2.00, divide -100 by (decimal odds minus 1).
Decimal odds of 1.50 give -100 ÷ (1.50 - 1) = -200.
Decimal Odds to Fractional
Subtract 1 from the decimal odds and simplify the result into a fraction.
Decimal odds of 4.00 give 4.00 - 1 = 3, written as 3/1.
Decimal odds of 1.25 give 1.25 - 1 = 0.25, which simplifies to 1/4.
American Odds to Decimal
For positive American odds, divide by 100 and add 1.
Odds of +200 give (200 ÷ 100) + 1 = 3.00.
For negative American odds, divide 100 by the absolute odds value and add 1.
Odds of -200 give (100 ÷ 200) + 1 = 1.50.
American Odds to Fractional
For positive American odds, divide by 100.
Odds of +300 give 300 ÷ 100 = 3/1.
For negative American odds, divide 100 by the absolute value.
Odds of -300 give 100 ÷ 300 = 1/3.
Fractional Odds to Decimal
Add 1 to the fraction's decimal value.
Fractional odds of 3/1 equal 3.00, so 3.00 + 1 = 4.00.
Fractional odds of 1/4 equal 0.25, so 0.25 + 1 = 1.25.
Fractional Odds to American
If the fraction is 1/1 or higher, multiply its decimal value by 100.
Fractional odds of 3/1 give 3 × 100 = +300.
If the fraction is below 1/1, divide -100 by its decimal value.
Fractional odds of 1/5 give -100 ÷ 0.20 = -500.
