What is the Benchmark EV tool?

Not all bookmakers are created equal. Generally speaking there are "sharp"and "soft" bookmakers. "Sharp" bookmakers have higher limits, react to information the quickest and therefore are much better benchmarks than "soft" books. When you de-vig prices from "sharp" bookmakers these become very good predictors of the true probability.

When you find prices greater than the de-vigged benchmark that is a good betting opportunity. This is one of the best ways to implement a top-down betting strategy. We use the market to show us where there is value.

How is Benchmark EV different from other +EV tools?

Most +EV tools force you to use Pinnacle as the benchmark for everything. That works fine for NFL moneylines, but it falls apart for player props or AFL/NRL markets where Pinnacle's limits are too low to be sharp. Benchmark EV lets you choose your own sharp books, or blend multiple, so the benchmark actually matches the market you're betting into.

Which books should I use as my benchmark?

For mainline markets (moneylines, totals, spreads): Pinnacle and the Betfair Exchange are the gold standards globally.For player props: a blended consensus of the sharpest prop markets usually outperforms any single book. What does "devigging" mean?

Devigging (or "removing the vig") strips the bookmaker's margin out of their odds. Every bookmaker adds extra price to their lines so they make money over time. To find the true probability of an outcome, you need to remove that margin first. Betsniper devigs every benchmark line automatically, so you're comparing apples to apples.

Will I get limited for placing +EV bets?

Eventually, yes, but much slower than with arbing. +EV bets look like regular single-side punts to a bookie's risk team, not the obvious two-sided plays that get arbers gubbed within weeks.
